Also at Mousehole with views to St. Clement’s Isle, is The Old Coastguard, the sister hotel to the Gurnards Head. Serving a traditional brasserie menu, they take good ingredients and give them a very simple but classic treatment.  Eat at scrubbed pine or oak tables on the Upper Deck and in the bar, or on the Sun Deck at sofas with just a pane of glass between you and the palm tree lined gardens. Or, best of all, eat on the terrace looking down at the sun-dappled sea.
